Los Angeles packs almost all of its rain into a few winter weeks, and when it arrives the city's golf shuts down fast: grass ranges turn to standing water, courses go cart-path-only or close, and every covered stall on the Westside fills by mid-morning. An indoor bay does not care. At Framegolf the screen says Pebble Beach and the radar says nothing at all.

LA golf is built on the assumption that it never rains. For the weeks each winter when that assumption fails, an indoor bay is the only plan that survives contact with the forecast.

Grass ranges close or shrink to mats after real rain, and the Westside's few covered stalls fill the moment the forecast turns.

Book the same private bay, hit the same launch monitor numbers, and leave dry. On-site parking keeps the sprint from car to door short.

December to March is when handicaps drift. Members who keep swinging through the wet weeks show up in spring already sharp.
Opening before next rainy season
Framegolf opens to founding members in mid August 2026 and to the public in September, ahead of the winter rains. Founders lock $250 a month for life, and the waitlist gets first access to public plans from $197.

Where can you play golf in LA when it rains?
Indoor simulator facilities are the only reliable option. Framegolf, opening in 2026 at 3375 Robertson Pl, Los Angeles, CA 90034 on the Culver City border, is a members-only club with four private bays bookable until midnight whatever the radar shows.
Do LA golf courses close when it rains?
Many close or restrict carts after heavy rain, and grass ranges are usually first to shut. LA's rain concentrates from December through March, so a few storms can wipe out weeks of outdoor practice.
Is simulator golf real practice or just entertainment?
Both, and the practice is real: every swing returns carry, spin, path, and face data from the launch monitor, and the auto-tee keeps the reps coming. Winter on a simulator is an improvement season, not a holding pattern.
