Playa del Rey

Indoor golf simulator near Playa del Rey.

Playa del Rey and Framegolf share a street. Culver Blvd starts at the beach by Del Rey Lagoon, crosses the Ballona Wetlands, and runs northeast into downtown Culver City, a few turns from the club's door at 3375 Robertson Pl. About twenty minutes, no freeway, and the marine layer stays behind you.

Getting Here

From Playa del Rey to first swing.

That last part matters. The beach eats practice time: June gloom kills evening light, salt air punishes gear, and the nearest range up the hill closes when the fog rolls in anyway. An indoor bay with launch-monitor data does not check the weather.

Drive time

Typically about 20 minutes (7 miles) in light traffic to 3375 Robertson Pl, Los Angeles, CA 90034.

The route

Take Culver Blvd northeast from the lagoon, across Lincoln Blvd and the Ballona Wetlands, through Del Rey and into downtown Culver City, then Washington Blvd east, left on National Blvd, and right on Robertson Pl just before Robertson Blvd.

By transit or bike

Transit is thin from the beach, but the Ballona Creek bike path runs from the jetty nearly door to door; exit near Syd Kronenthal Park for a short surface ride to Robertson Pl.

Parking

On-site parking at the club.

Why Indoor

Why Playa del Rey golfers go indoors.

  • June gloom and early marine-layer evenings shrink outdoor practice to a few good months. Indoor bays play the same in February and July.
  • The Ballona Creek path makes this one of the few beach-to-golf bike commutes in LA, about 8 flat miles.
  • Westchester's range up the hill covers daylight basics; launch-monitor carry, spin, and dispersion numbers cover actual improvement.
  • One street door to door. Culver Blvd is the whole commute, and there is parking at the end.

Questions

Playa del Rey golfers ask.

Is there a golf simulator near Playa del Rey?

Framegolf is about 20 minutes up Culver Blvd at 3375 Robertson Pl, Los Angeles, CA 90034, on the Culver City border. It is a members-only club with four private bays and hours until midnight.

Can I bike to Framegolf from Playa del Rey?

Yes. Pick up the Ballona Creek bike path near the jetty, ride east about 8 miles to the Syd Kronenthal Park exit, and it is a short surface ride to Robertson Pl, with bike parking on site.

Why use a simulator when I live at the beach?

The marine layer. From May through August the evening light and the fog take turns ending outdoor practice early. A private bay with launch-monitor data runs until midnight in any weather, and your clubs stay dry.
